Ford's monster focus lands


Please tell me of any youngster out who doesn’t want to own thee latest ford focus ST, FORD started the focus range in the late 90’s as a replacement of the Ford Escort.  The focus was launched as a 3-door hatchback and 4-door sedan and in some countries estate model was also introduced.
The third generation of the ford focus is more sporty and sexy than ever before with the ST being the top of the range and the car every youngster goes abuzz when they see.

Performance wise the range has petrol and diesel engines are available. The Petrol 1.6, features outputs of 104, 123 and 148bhp. It is said that the 148bhp version Ecoboost range of engines are exceptional performer offering pace far in excess of what’s usually expected from a 1.6.

There are also other petrol units which have been labelled more average performers, reaching 62mph in 11-12 seconds. Diesel derivatives are more varied, with 94 and 113bhp 1.6-litre engines and 2-litre units developing 138 and 160bhp from Zero to 62mph figures are 12.5, 10.9, 8.9 and 8.6 seconds respectively.

Four upgrades have been made in the Focus range, and all are at the high end of technology, the Edge model has the following features air-con, electric mirrors, a digital radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and a fuel cap to prevent mis-fuelling. 

All the models are equipped with alloy wheels, a heated windscreen, sporty front seats, heated door mirrors and additional cabin storage. The Titanium models have been upgraded with a Sony stereo, cruise control, automatic headlights and wipers, climate control and LED lighting and the Titanium X receives larger alloys, part-leather trim, heated front seats and electric drivers’ seat and park sensors.

Engines emissions fall under 140g/km, while road tax for private buyers is affordable. The 1.6-litre diesel is the cheapest to run, with emissions of 109g/km and an official average fuel consumption figure of 67.3mpg.
The interior features a meticulously modern look, with smart instrumentation that’s very easy to read. The plastic used look and feel high quality and the sharp angles and peculiar shaped handbrake is rather attractive.
